Cancel Smallpdf subscription
If you're here, you probably signed up for a 7-day free trial and got charged 30 days later, or you bought Smallpdf Pro for one project and realized you haven't used it in months. You're not alone — every PDF subscription service in this space has a material chunk of revenue from users who forgot to cancel.
The cancel path on Smallpdf is: open smallpdf.com, sign in, click your avatar, go to Account settings, find the Billing tab, and look for a 'Cancel subscription' or 'Manage plan' link. If you subscribed via the iOS App Store or Google Play, the cancellation has to be done inside those stores — Smallpdf's web dashboard can't cancel a mobile subscription. Always take a screenshot of the confirmation screen; bill disputes are much easier with proof.
After cancelling, your Pro features stay active until the end of the paid period. If you want a refund for an unused period, email support@smallpdf.com within 14 days per their own terms. If you occasionally still need PDF tools, PennyPDF sells coins instead of subscriptions — a $2.99 Mini pack covers a typical month of casual use and doesn't auto-renew.
How it works
- 1Sign into smallpdf.com with the email on the subscription.
- 2Open Account → Billing. If you subscribed via App Store / Play Store, go there instead.
- 3Click 'Cancel subscription' or 'Manage plan' → 'Cancel'.
- 4Confirm on the survey page. Take a screenshot of the 'Subscription cancelled' confirmation.
- 5Watch your card statement next cycle — if you're still charged, dispute with your bank and forward Smallpdf the cancellation screenshot.

Will I get a refund for the current month?+
Smallpdf's default is no proration — you keep Pro until the period ends and aren't billed again. Refunds for recent charges are case-by-case via support@smallpdf.com; reference their 14-day policy.
How do I cancel if I subscribed through the iPhone app?+
Apple owns that subscription, not Smallpdf. On iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Smallpdf → Cancel. For Android: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
What happens to my files after I cancel?+
Smallpdf doesn't persist files long-term regardless of plan — they're deleted after processing. Cancelling doesn't lose anything. If you stored documents in their e-sign archive, export them before cancelling.
Is there a way to pause instead of cancel?+
Not exposed in the Smallpdf UI. Your options are cancel now or keep paying. PennyPDF's pay-per-use model makes 'pausing' literal — don't buy coins if you're not using it; the ones you have stay valid forever.
What if I only need PDF tools occasionally?+
