Task
Request signature on a PDF
Sending a PDF for signature is where most online services start charging $20-$50/month. PennyPDF charges 5 coins per signer (~20 cents) and delivers the same feature: unique signing link per signer, in-order or parallel flow, audit trail, certificate of completion.
Each signer receives an email with a signing link. No PennyPDF account required on their end. They open the link, see the document, sign in the designated fields, submit. You receive a notification on each signing and a final copy once all signers complete.
The audit trail tracks IP, user-agent, timestamp, and geo-region (from IP, not GPS) for each signing event. A certificate-of-completion PDF page is auto-appended to the final document with these details and cryptographic hashes of each signed version, so tampering after signing is detectable.
How it works
- 1Upload the document at /sign and switch to 'Request signatures' mode.
- 2Add each signer: email, name, signature field position.
- 3Choose order (parallel or sequential) and send.
- 4Track status in /dashboard. Download the final signed doc when complete.
Frequently asked
Does the signer need to create an account?+
No. The signing link works without any account. Signers see the document, sign, submit. Zero friction on their side.
Legally binding?+
Yes under E-SIGN / eIDAS for most commercial contracts. For eIDAS-qualified (AES / QES) signatures, see our PKI upgrade in Phase 6.
Parallel vs sequential signing?+
Parallel = everyone signs in any order. Sequential = each signer sees the doc only after the previous one signs. Pick per document.
What if a signer declines?+
The document enters a 'declined' state and you get an email notification. No further signers receive the link. No coin refund (signing is a fixed cost).
Audit trail on the final PDF?+
Appended as a certificate-of-completion page with IP, user-agent, timestamp, and cryptographic hash per signer.
