Pay once PDF editor

'Pay once' is what most users actually want from PDF software. You have a project, you need some PDF tools for a week, and then you're done for months. Subscription products make you pay forever for those two weeks.

PennyPDF sells credits called coins. Buy once: $0.99 gets 10 coins. Use them over any time horizon — one week, one year, five years. There's no expiry on coins and no auto-renewal on purchases. The pack is a one-time transaction, same as buying an ebook or a ticket.

If you run out and need more, you make another one-time purchase. You're never locked into a recurring bill. If you never come back, your account sits dormant with no charges, and if you do come back five years later, your remaining coins are still there.

How it works

  1. 1Sign in with Google or Microsoft (takes 3 seconds).
  2. 2Get 10 welcome coins automatically.
  3. 3Use them — they're enough for 3-5 server-side operations.
  4. 4If you run out, buy a pack. One-time charge. Coins never expire.
  5. 5Done. No subscription was created.

Frequently asked

Is this really one-time? Are you sure there's no auto-renew?+

Confirmed — coin purchases are one-time charges processed via Square. Your card is charged once for the pack and never again unless you manually come back and buy another pack.

What happens if I don't come back for a year?+

Nothing happens. No charges, no 'please verify' emails, no auto-renewal. Your remaining coin balance stays intact.

What's the smallest purchase?+

Mini pack: $0.99 for 10 coins. Also the smallest for a reason — we don't want to sell sub-dollar packs that create payment friction.

Can I gift coins to another user?+

Not yet — gifting is on the roadmap (Phase 7). For now, coins are tied to the account that purchased them.

Will you switch to a subscription model later?+

Coin-based pricing is core to the brand. We'll add optional subscription tiers for pro users who prefer flat-rate, but the pay-once/coins option stays forever.
