PDF editor no monthly fee

If you've ever thought 'I just need to edit one PDF, I don't need a year-long subscription', you're the audience for pay-per-use. Nearly every online PDF editor forces you into a monthly or annual commitment because recurring revenue is how they're valued — even when your usage doesn't justify it.

PennyPDF's pricing: Mini $0.99 / 10 coins. Starter $0.99 / 25 coins. Saver $2.99 / 50 coins. Power $7.99 / 200 coins. Pro $14.99 / 500 coins. Coins never expire. An edit operation is usually free (client-side); saving a signed PDF is 3 coins; compressing a server-side file is 1 coin; PDF-to-Word is 2 coins.

Do the math on your usage. 10 PDF edits a month for 12 months = 0 coins spent (edits are free). 10 signings a month for 12 months = 360 coins = one $14.99 Pro pack, spent across a full year. Compare to DocuSign Personal at $120/year for similar output.

  3. 3Buy the smallest pack that covers your paid-operation count.
  4. 4Use the coins over any time period. Months, years, forever.
  5. 5Never think about a renewal again.

Frequently asked

What's the equivalent in monthly-subscription terms?+

The $2.99 Saver pack covers a median personal user for about 6 months. The $7.99 Power pack covers a heavy personal user for a full year. Compare to any subscription at $9-$25/month.

Is there a trial?+

Yes — sign in with Google or Microsoft and get 10 free coins ($0 required). 10 coins is ~3 server-side operations, enough to evaluate quality on your actual documents before buying.

Do the coin packs get cheaper at higher volumes?+

Yes — per-coin price drops from 10¢ at Mini to 3¢ at Pro. The Power and Pro packs are aimed at small teams or small businesses doing frequent document work.

What if I need more than Pro's 500 coins a month?+

That's API territory — the /docs/api has custom-volume pricing starting at 2¢/coin for 5000+ coin commitments. Enterprise accounts get invoice billing.

Is the price per operation really stable, or will it creep?+

Operation prices in coins are frozen. Coin-to-USD rate is fixed per pack at purchase time. We haven't raised prices since launch and don't intend to for the coin-based tiers.
